Home Education

Home education has become more common in recent years and we offer a range of activities to support your child’s learning in an outdoor environment from our woodland near Fordingbridge.

We have designed several programmes of activities, for all years groups specifically targeting the national curriculum objectives along with normal ‘topic’ work. Our activities are similar to the activities we run in schools but with the added benefit of being in an actual woodland:

  • Ancient fire lighting

  • Den and shelter building

  • Navigation using man made and natural methods

  • Bug hunts, bug house and bird feeders

  • Whittling wood to make tent pegs

  • Tree identification and their uses

  • Team building/co-operative adventure games

  • Knots and paracord survival bracelet making

We run fascinating ‘topic’ days in:

  • Stone and Iron Age

  • Ancient Greeks

  • Romans

  • Vikings

  • The Great Fire of London

  • Supported book weeks with activities linked to specific books being read in class. ( See our blog re how we supported ‘Wolf Brother’ by Michelle Paver in school )

We also support science based activities in an outdoor setting, for example, ‘changing states of matter’ and ‘plant/tree ID and anatomy’ and much more, giving children the freedom to learn via alternative methods in an outdoors setting.

All leaders are fully trained and insured, have valid DBS checks and an outdoors first aid trained member of staff attends all events

Please contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail.
