Starting in the Autumn term we are excited to announce this NEW Home Ed’ group, aimed at 14 - 18 year olds. This is a 5 week course delivering our NCFE Level 2 Bushcraft Course. This is an accredited course that will be a recognised qualification, and something your teen can add to their CV, as well as learning new skills and having fun in our woodland site here in Verwood. ⁠

The course covers the foundation bushcraft skills, with an informal assessment at the end. ⁠

⁠💥 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲?⁠

🌱 Traps and tracking⁠

🌱 Preparing food (Fin, Feather and Fur) - optional⁠

🌱 Campfire cooking⁠

🌱 Natural navigation⁠

🌱 Safe tool use⁠

🌱 Water sourcing⁠

🌱 Natural cord making⁠

🌱 Carving skills⁠

🌱 Shelter (natural and man made)⁠

🌱 Knife skills⁠

🌱 Foraging ⁠

🌱 Tool care and knife law⁠

⁠The course will take place in our private woodland, The Wildway Woods near the Verwood Heavy Horse Farm Park on Thursday mornings from 10am - 12pm. Each session is £20 (full course to be paid in advance). All of our instructors are qualified, DBS checked, first aid trained and insured. ⁠

⁠Parking is available. Parent(s) to stay on site please, tea and coffee will be available. Please bring a chair if you wish and enjoy our peaceful woodland.
