Birthday parties begin at either 10.30am or 2.30pm during the summer months or begin at 10.30/11am during day-light saving times.

Our beautiful woodland is tricky to pin-point on a map so Craig will meet your party at a local mutually agreed location to drive to the woodland in convoy. The woodland is a short walk up a small track which isn’t too wet but does get a little muddy so waterproof shoes or wellies are a must!

Craig and Ben, our bushcraft instructors, will introduce themselves and tell the children what they will be doing adding in some safety points along the way. We will make some name badges for the children so everyone knows each others name .

We will start by talking about survival in the wild, Craig will show the kids his shelter and the children will be able to build their own. After we’ve sat in the shelters (everyone loves to sit in their shelters!), we will sit in a safety circle underneath the parachute and do some exciting fire lighting! The birthday child will have the opportunity to use different methods to light fire and the children will learn the uses of these methods. There will be many photo opportunities! The children will be able to play in the dens they have made while Craig and Ben prepare your delicious hot dog lunch with snacks and squash (hand cleaning facilities are provided!). The children can eat their lunch in their shelters or underneath the parachute. Afterwards, we will sing Happy Birthday, toast marshmallows around the campfire and finish off the party with free play in the woodland to run about and wave sticks, or a game of woodland sneak! The party will finish around 2 hours and 45 minutes later. We suggest that anyone collecting a child comes to the woodland at either 1.30pm or 5.30pm which gives you a bit of time to get everyone back to your vehicles.
